We began a unit on the SAT essay.  I explained how the essay is worded and graded.  I shared some hints (SAT Essay Guidelines) on how to approach the essay.  We took a timed practice essay and discussed our responses.  I handed out a scoring rubric and we did a brief self evaluation.

I also returned the Huck Finn exams.  Class average:  69.
