We discussed the last three Dickinson poems today:  “Apparently with no Surprise”, “Success is Counted Sweetest” and “Because I Could Not Stop for Death” and then took the quiz on the Dickinson poems.

Following the quiz, I checked the progress on the research paper by looking at a list of sources and the thesis statement.

HOMEWORK:  Read The Great Gatsby chapters 4-6.  Quiz on Wednesday.

We reviewed how to outline the research paper to begin the class.

Following that we reviewed the second part of 1984 focusing our discussion on the characters and how they interact with Winston.

To finish, we took the quiz on the second part of 1984.

We reviewed all new articles which were due today.

HOMEWORK:  Revise articles for publication.

We discussed Chapters 4-6 of The Great Gatsby in preparation for the quiz tomorrow.  We talked about the history between Gatsby and Daisy and how their reunion affected all characters.

After that, I checked sources and thesis statements for the research project.

HOMEWORK:  Prepare for quiz on Gatsby chapters 4-6 tomorrow.  Final test on Gatsby will be on Thursday, May 15.
