We took the quiz on Vocab unit 2.  I assigned the next essay:

Compare Bradford and Rowlandson’s pursuit of the American Dream.  What was necessary for them to achieve their dream?

FCA’s

• 20 points:  proper thesis
• 60 points:  three specific areas of comparison supported by quotes
• 20 points:  4 underlined compound sentences.

 HOMEWORK:  Read The Scarlet Letter through page 100 for discussion on Wednesday.  Begin working on essay.

We took the vocab quiz on unit 2 to begin class.

After that we discussed Grendel in preparation for the test on the novel.

HOMEWORK:  Do the take home test on Grendel.   Finish  the “Prologue”  in The Canterbury Tales.

We worked on the Unit 3 vocab exercises in class today.  I also returned the vocab stories from earlier in the week.

HOMEWORK:  Study for vocab unit 3 quiz and continue working on essays which are due on Friday.
