We began with a type II writing assignment (twenty lines): is nature chaotic or ordered?

We then reviewed the Longfellow poems.  I also posted a new list of vocabulary words.

HOMEWORK:   Look up the vocab words and read “Snowbound” on p. 182-185 and answer the “Shaping Interpretation” questions on p. 186.  The vocab quiz will be on Monday.

We began studying Macbeth today.  At the end of the unit students will turn in Macbeth Projects instead of a test or essay.  I also handed out a set of vocabulary words for Acts I + II of the play.

We began reading Act I.

HOMEWORK:  Finish reading Act I and answer Reading Check questions on page 318. The vocab quiz will be on Monday.

We began studying Unit 4 in the vocabulary book and read the poem “Thanatopsis” from the textbook.

HOMEWORK:  Do “Completing the Sentence” on p. 54-55 in vocab book and review the poem to prepare for the quiz tomorrow.
