We took the vocab quiz today.

Students continued working on the Isn’t it Romantic? Poetry Project.

We  began with an exercise on writing effective leads.  Following that, the students had time to work on their articles which are due on Monday.

We began working on the Dickinson Poetry Project today.

HOMEWORK: Vocab quiz on Friday. Finish reading Huck Finn by Friday.  Test on Wednesday 3/5.

We read and discussed Dickinson’s “If you were coming in the fall”.  We talked about how it wasn’t the waiting which bothered the speaker, it was the uncertainty.

HOMEWORK:  Work on weblogs and write two sentences using the vocab words.

We began the Isn’t it Romantic? Poetry Project today. Here is the list of poems to read: Period 6A reading list. Students worked on projects during class.

HOMEWORK: First novel project assignment due on Wednesday. Students should also read the poems on the reading list.  Next novel project is due on March 12.

We brainstormed story ideas for next deadline (March 5) and did some work on eliminating pointless words.

HOMEWORK:  Work on articles for Monday.

We reviewed the “Complete the Sentence” and “Choose the Right Word” exercises from Unit 6.

HOMEWORK:  Complete the next weblog entry.  Review vocab words for quiz on Friday.
