We talked about the course choices for next year for the first 30 minutes.  Following that, we reviewed the U.C.E. and I showed the class model open response answers.

We finished by reviewing some basic information on using the weblogs and looking at the first assignment.

HOMEWORK:  Continue reading in Huck Finn and submit first weblog posting.

We watched the conclusion of This is Spinal Tap and wrote a type II choosing two examples of satire from the film and showing how each was accomplished (tools used by the satirist).  We also reviewed the Unified Content Exam.

HOMEWORK:  Complete all Swift reading and prepare for discussion on Wednesday.  Draft of essay due on Friday.

Lauren took control today as we began studying Unit 5 vocabulary.  She did a great job of reviewing the first 10 words of the unit.

Some students were continuing to have trouble with their weblogs, so I extended the deadline another day.
