We drew two maps: one diagramming the relationships in The Great Gatsby and one for the places in the novel. After that, we listened to the beginning of chapter four as Gatsby tried to explain his past to Nick.

HOMEWORK: Continue to answer study questions on the novel.

We discussed thesis statements and how each section of the research paper should have one.  Students worked on novels or papers for the rest of the period.

HOMEWORK:  Continue working on novels and papers.

Layout continued.  We should be able to finish up on Friday.
