Essays were turned in. We began reading a posting from a weblog written by a soldier in Iraq and began discussing ethics and morals and the choices they present.

Essays were handed in today. I passed out the Blog Rubric to students and we discussed the expectations. We’ll set them up on Wednesday.
After that we read Faulkner’s Nobel Prize acceptance speech and discussed what his criteria were for “great literature”.
We began an introduction to Hamlet and passed out copies of the play.
HOMEWORK: Review notes on Hamlet.

We took the first vocab quiz of the year (it was difficult).
HOMEWORK: Take the quiz sheet home and fill in the blanks with words you know. American Dream projects are due on Thursday, 9/11.

We took the quiz on chapter 2 (laws, ethics and policy) and learned how to do a Story Generator.
HOMEWORK: Read Chapter 5 – Interviewing p. 63-80.
