We got everyone set up on the edublogs and introduced the one minute drill.
HOMEWORK: First blog post: Read Polonius’s advice to Laertes in Act I, Scene iii, Lines 59-83. Which piece of advice is most relevant today? Which piece is least relevant today? Why? Also, prepare for one minute drill on Acts I-II.

We split the class in half, with some working on the computers on their war blog projects and the other half brainstorming questions which they would as their authors. They will then use these questions to guide their reading of the blogs.
HOMEWORK: Continue working on the blogs.

We talked about how to effectively read a text book and discussed note taking strategies.
HOMEWORK: Continue reading section up to page 18. Take at least twenty notes on the reading.

We began talking about writing a news story using the inverted pyramid format. We did an exercise on prioritizing facts in stories and writing leads.
HOMEWORK: Read chapter on Feature Writing and continue working on stories.
