I met with individual students to discuss their college essays. While I did that, students met in small groups to continue reading the play.

HOMEWORK: Finish reading Act IV and prepare for a one minute drill on Thursday. Finish reading entire play by Monday, October 6.

NEW WEBLOG ENTRY DUE BY MONDAY, OCTOBER 6:

  • Reread Act III, Scene 3, lines 37 to the end.
  • Explain how Shakespeare portrays Claudius as a sympathetic character.
  • Explain what Hamlet’s reasoning for not killing Claudius at this time says about Hamlet’s character.

We heard the last of the blogs of war presentation and then had individual conferences with students on their writing.  Other students were writing a concluding piece on the project or continued reading The Kite Runner.

HOMEWORK:  Continue reading The Kite Runner.
