We took the vocabulary quiz today, and most students did very well.  The vocabulary stories which we wrote yesterday seemed to help.

HOMEWORK:  Review the Bradford reading in preparation for the quiz  on Tuesday.

Articles were due today.  We spent the period peer editing the articles.

HOMEWORK:  Begin work on new articles.  Story Generators due on October 7.

We continued with our Blogs of War unit today.

HOMEWORK:  Ch. 1-8 of The Kite Runner are due tomorrow.

We watched some of the movie version of Hamlet.

HOMEWORK:  Read Act III of Hamlet.

We wrote stories using our vocabulary words today.  We produced some very creative work.

HOMEWORK:  Study for the vocabulary quiz.

We did some writing exercises on eliminating needless words and reducing wordy phrases to one word.

HOMEWORK:  Articles are due tomorrow on Google Docs.

We took a practice vocabulary quiz today created by the students.

Following that, we continued reading the Bradford Selection.

HOMEWORK:  Study vocabulary words.

Students turned in the revisions of the college essays.

We continued listening to war blog presentations.

HOMEWORK:  Continue reading The Kite Runner.  Ch. 1-8 due on Friday.

We took a second look at all the articles and helped readers revise them.  We also looked at the Journalism Article Rubric.

HOMEWORK:  Revise current articles and continue working on new articles.

We checked some blog entries and saw what the criteria for grading would be.

Following that, we looked closely at Act II of Hamlet, focusing on Hamlet’s supposed madness.

HOMEWORK:  Re-read the end of Act II.
