Students worked on revising their essays and the Vietnam Poetry Project.

We began listening to Irving’s “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow” in class today and copied the characteristics of American Romanticism into our notebooks.

We began watching All the President’s Men today.  Stringbooks were handed in.

I presented the Pride and Prejudice essay topics and Pride and Prejudice Study Questions.  The rest of the class was devoted to essay revisions and writing conferences.

HOMEWORK:  Complete essay revisions.

I returned the formal essays and students began working on the revisions.  I also presented the Vietnam Song Project which will be due on Thursday.

HOMEWORK:  Work on revisions and projects.

Students took the vocabulary quiz today.  Following that they began reading the section on “American Romanticism” in the textbook.  They should take notes on the chapter for an open note quiz.

HOMEWORK:  Finish the reading.

Students continued to work on portfolio/stringbooks.

HOMEWORK:  Portfolio/stringbooks due tomorrow.

I returned both the in-class and out of class essays from Hamlet today. Revisions of the out of class essay are due on Friday.

We also began Pride and Prejudice today. We talked about the concept of entitlement and read the first two chapters to learn about the Bennett family. Students must read the first 91 pages by next Tuesday, November 4.
