We had our last one minute drill and discussion of Pride and Prejudice.  We continued to debate its status as a “Great Book”.

HOMEWORK:  Essays are due on Wednesday.

We read some poems by Leroy V. Quintana, a Vietnam veteran.  Students analyzed them individually, identifying speaker, tone, meaning, literary devices, etc.

HOMEWORK:  Complete the analysis of the poems.

Articles were due today.  We shared them and worked on layout.

HOMEWORK:  Revise articles.

We began watching The Last of the Mohicans today.  For a guide to the film, click here.  Students should be taking notes in preparation for an open note quiz on the film at its conclusion.
