We took the test on Pride and Prejudice. 

We watched more of the Knightley film version.

HOMEWORK:  Weblog posting due on Thursday:
Hamlet or Pride and Prejudice:  which is the “greater” book.  Provide two examples to support your answer.

We discussed the concept of theme in literature and began discussing possible themes for The Things They Carried.  We developed a list of concept words which could be combined to form theme statements.

After that, Greg took over the class to begin reviewing for the test.

HOMEWORK:  Essays due on Friday, test on Tuesday.

We discussed the article grading rubrics and looked at a few examples.  Following that we worked on articles and layout.

HOMEWORK:  Story Generators due on Friday.  Articles due on Monday.

We took the quiz on The Last of the Mohicans film today.

Following that we reviewed the definitions for the remaining vocabulary words.  The test will be on Friday.

We finished the class by discussing Transcedentalism (p. 212 in text) and its influence on 20th century history (MLK and Ghandi).
