I gave the students the 1984 reading schedule. After that we began working on our debates. One have of the class will debate our right to privacy and the other will debate the freedom of expression. We spent the period doing research. All groups worked well today.

HOMEWORK: Continue reading 1984.

Essays were turned in today, and I passed out copies of Flags of our Fathers. We began watching Born on the Fourth of July.

HOMEWORK:  Prepare for the test on Tuesday.

We discussed our Story Generators and story ideas.  Layout is almost finished.

HOMEWORK:  Stories due on Monday.

We took the vocab quiz today.

HOMEWORK:  Read “Walden” (232-246) and answer the reading check questions.  Take notes in preparation for quiz on Monday.
