We took the quiz on “Walden” today.  Students used the remainder of the period to study vocab for tomorrow’s quiz.

We had our one minute drill for the first part of 1984 and used the rest of the period for our debate preparation.

HOMEWORK:  Continue reading the novel and working on the debates.  Our debates will be on Thursday.

We discussed the beginning of Flags of our Fathers.  Quiz on the first 100 pages on Thursday.

HOMEWORK:  Continue reading the novel.

THE FIRST ISSUE ARRIVED!!!!  We spent the period evaluating our issue and discussing sales tactics.

HOMEWORK:  Revise columns.

We returned to normal today by reviewing the “Completing the Sentence” activity in the vocab book.  We also reviewed for the quiz on “Walden” which will be tomorrow.

HOMEWORK:  Prepare for quiz and study for vocab quiz (Thurs.)

We continued preparing for the debate next week.

HOMEWORK:  Continue reading Flags of our Fathers.  First 10 chapters due by Monday.

We talked about a column I wrote for my college newspaper a few years ago and how readership can grow.

We also talked about how we can promote the sales of our newspaper.

HOMEWORK:  Continue working on columns.

Students received a new list of vocabulary words today.  We continued to discuss “Walden”.

HOMEWORK:  Do the “Completing the Sentences” exercise for the vocabulary words.

We continued with debate prep today.  I showed the class some electronic resources available through the public library.
