We looked at the complex relationship between Lee, Longstreet and J.E.B. Stuart (right) today.  We looked at how Lee chose to reprimand Stuart without embarrassing him.  We began to look at Longstreet’s final plea to Lee to retreat before the final battle at Gettysburg.

We spent the period reviewing The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn for the test tomorrow.  We chose significant quotes from the novel and tried to figure out what Twain was trying to say about America with them.

HOMEWORK:  Study for test.

I showed the students a website which will create simple pie charts we can then import into our newspaper as JPG files.  Students then worked on creating the charts and working on the articles which will accompany them.

HOMEWORK:  Story Generators are due on Friday.  Articles due on Monday.
