We brainstormed new story ideas for the next issue. After that, we worked on stringbooks and story generators.
HOMEWORK: Stringbooks due tomorrow. Story Generators due on Monday. Next articles due on 11/16.

We worked with our vocabulary words today, completing sentences with words we know and then trying to match them to words on the list.
HOMEWORK: Work on essay which is due on Monday. Study vocabulary.

Period 5A

First, we watched a few minutes of the movie version of “All Quiet on the Western Front” to show students trench warfare.
Next, we reviewed “Soldier’s Home” by Ernest Hemingway and discussed the study questions.
Finally, we did some work with the vocabulary words.
HOMEWORK: Prepare for quizzes on the story and the vocab words on Monday.
